This award-winning knife features durable S30V stainless-steel blade with scratch-resistant Tungsten DLC coating. The Boa includes Kershaw's SpeedSafe assisted opening system for easy one-handed opening. The thumb stud can be installed on either the left or right side of the blade for use by both left- and right-handers. The Boa's G-10 handle not only looks good, but provides top function too. It offers superior mechanical and dimensional stability and enhances a sure grip in a variety of environmental conditions. 

The SpeedSafe system employs a torsion bar. When closed, the torsion bar helps keep the knife closed, preventing it from being opened by "gravity." In order to open the knife, just apply manual pressure to the thumb stud to overcome the resistance of the torsion bar. After the blade is out of the handle, the torsion bar moves along its half-moon track and takes over quickly opening the blade and locking it into position.
