The foot soldier of the 14th century was confronted by more and more armor, used by both nobles and the mercenaries of the time. Although only the richest knights could afford full plate, everyone would put on as much protection as they could. This two hand axe is taken from the book, "Armeria Della Rocca" and is a tough, functional weapon. In the brutal, wild maelstrom of close combat, this axe could crush armor and smash mail. The shaft is made of a very strong hardwood.
